Sartaj Bali (born 17 September 1950) is a Haduastani politician serving as the 19th Prime Minister of Haduastan since 2014. He is a member of the left-wing Ratiya Nata Party. He is the longest-serving Prime Minister in Haduastani history. Bali was born in 1950 in Dokata, and was among hundreds of thousands displaced during the World War. Sartaj's father was an important figure in the post-war reconstruction, and as Bali joined politics in his early adulthood he was propelled into the National Assembly largely based off his father's recognizable name. He was elected Prime Minister in 2014 and his government enacted many popular infrastructure and military reforms, helping boost the Haduastani economy and increase standards of living. Bali received consistently high approval ratings as Prime Minister, but due to concessions his government made during the Brau Sea crisis, including the ceding of Chitpa, Bali's approval plummeted and he faced a vote of no-confidence in the National Assembly. Described as engineering a political realignment towards left-wing politics, he remains a figure of both popularity and controversy domestically and internationally.
