Sheshtri (Kshentri, Knansheshtri or Chetteteri) historically named the 'Khad' or 'Khaddari' people are an ethnic group and member of the Mardri Family, otherwise known as the Khaddic Family, originating from Medieval Kotowari. The Sheshtri make up the largest percentage of any ethnic group in Mahana. The Sheshtri are historically the caste which made up a majority of the nations governors, ministers, monarchs and nobles in the medieval Mahanan Kingdom. The royal family of Mahana were of Sheshtri origins.

As of the 2012 national census of Mahana, the Sheshtri people were the highest identified ethnic group, with around 17% of the population identifying to the caste.

Origin

The Sheshtri people are thought to be descendents of the Khaddic people who lived in Mahana during the 1110s.
