The Sió, known otherwise as Northerners are a ethnographic classification used by the Empire in its regimental organization of tribes. The Sió have historically inhabited the area of the Imperial North and were at some point part of the Northern Coalition during the Proto-Imperial Era and the Unification Era. The Sió are named after the Sió tributary. Most of the cultures of the Sió have shared cultural traits and a shared definition of the region. Many of the cultures of the Sió exist in more hostile conditions than other ethnographic classifications within the Empire due to their homeland being located within the Tolna Mountain Range. The Mórahalom, Csongrád, Tolna, and Ároktő. The Jászapáti are also sometimes included within this definition as the Jászapáti are seen as more culturally related to the Mórahalom than the other Erdős tribes. However, the megye of Jászapáti is geographically defined as belonging to the Imperial East and the Jászapáti were never apart of the Northern Coalition fully.
