The Armed Forces of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, commonly known as the Soviet Armed Forces, are the combined military forces of the Soviet Union. Combined, they comprise the world's largest military in terms of active-duty personnel, with 5.5 million personnel in total. The Soviet Armed Forces consists of the Army, Strategic Rocket Forces, Air Forces, Air Defence Forces, Navy, and the Space Forces.

The Soviet Union possesses the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world, and employs a No Strike First policy. The Soviet Union has the second highest military budget in the world behind the United States, at an official budget of $524 billion in 2020. Soviet law mandates a draft for all male citizens aged 18-35, with females being exempt from the draft but not being exempt from conscription.
