The International Arbitration, or tIA as it is frequently referred to in Ausitoria, is an episode of the Aestorian cold war, trade war, and economic war in progress between various SACTO powers and the Aestorian Commonwealth over the activities of the Aestorian Ministry in the International Freedom Coalition.

Arbitration

The episode can be divided into three phases, the initial arbitration attempts against Inyursta directly, the expanded targeting of its allies using the Global Monetary Fund, and lastly the attempt to withhold funds to the IFC.

Arbitration against Inyursta

Ausitoria attempted to secure an indemnity, first through suing in an international court of their own design. Inyursta disregarded the suit and continued their activities. With no reply, Ausitoria then tried to turn the damages back onto Inyurstan economic assets, but there were no relations to sever, no bank accounts to freeze and no physical assets to seize. When that failed, Ausitoria then attempted to use the IFC to receive damages from Inyursta - however, Inyursta had been (illegally) suspended and was not present, nor did they have any assets of any value in the hands of the IFC at the time. Ausitoria was then forced to look for other means of securing the indemnity money.

Global Monetary Fund

With direct attempts to get the money from Inyursta having failed, the Ausitorian government reached the conclusion that indemnity money from SACTO was just as good, given that Inyursta had the full support of its SACTO allies. The empire of Romic had previously donated a sum of around $3 Trillion to the Global Monetary Fund. The Ausitorian government then utilized backroom deals to recruit the GMF into seizing the Romician cash. Unfortunately for them, Romic had already withdrawn its donation.

IFC Treasury

After Shazbotdom defeated Ausitoria in the elections for Prime Minister of the IFC, Inyursta was immediately readmitted and a number of Ausitorian policies instantly reversed. Ausitoria, still looking for means to get its indemnity money, refused to transition over a large sum of money from the IFC treasury. They were ultimately made to hand over the funds, and again forced to look elsewhere for the indemnity money.

Resolution

With nowhere to turn, the Ausitorians finally looked to their own shores to find the money for damages. They ultimately decided that some of their own funds "would have" or "could have" been given to Inyursta and other SACTO nations as aid money in the future. A lump sum of cash was shifted between various budget funds and bank accounts; using money owned by the Ausitorian government to pay itself the indemnity money.

The Ausitorian government adopted the viewpoint that they had covered all the damages, including to their reputation, entirely at the expense of their opponent's interests, effectively putting the entire cost of the dispute on Inyursta and its allies; with the Bank securing some $3.4 trillion by moving it from other Ausitorian finance sources, with the money raised being divided between the navy and trade subsidies.

The Inyurstan government adopted the viewpoint that the arbitration was a joke, claiming a lack of any monetary loss and refused to acknowledge that they would ever require foreign aid from Ausitoria. Président Jack Peresque and his soon-to-be successor Jean-Baptiste Calderone pointed to unchallenged control in the Sea of Juarez Dispute as not only a basic military victory by Inyursta and failed economic repercussions against them, but ultimately a triumph of physical victory over abstract metaphysical concepts.
