The Thors Military Academy (or simply TMA) is a Military Public research university and Academy in Trista, Erebonian Empire. It was founded in 1945 under the prerogative of Emperor Dreichels Reize Arnor.

The academy was built with the objective of preparing military students to fulfill and rebuild Erebonia's military capabilities. It lives with Emperor Dreichel's famous EWII quote: "Arise, O youth, and become the foundation of the world."

Initially, the academy had the Principal as its highest position until its admittance to the Commonwealth Alliance of Universities, which prompted it to restructure its branches. Now, the academy has 1 Chancellor, 1 Vice-Chancellor, 1 Chairman, and 3 board of directors. The current chairman is Imperial prince Olivert Reize Arnor. The three directors are Rufus Albarea, Governor and Brigadier Carl Regnitz, and Rainford Group CEO Irina Rainford. Despite their own individual positions, they are all directly involved in the academy's administration.

During the tenure of then-Colonel Kiriya Kitagawa as Chancellor from 1992 to 2008, he bought up the initiative of eliminating noble meddling and politicisation of the university by allowing nobles and commoners to be mixed into different classes. However, this would not be implemented until in 2014, when Class VII was created to experiment further on Chancellor Kitagawa's proposal. 2 years later, Prince Olivert concludent that the experiment was a success, hence forth, nobles and commoners were now mixed per class. In addition, he also opened the new Thors Branch Campus in Leeves, specifically inside Fort Daidoji Kitagawa, which was a branch for foreigners and lower classes. The idea came largely from Kitagawa but nobility meddling prevented its implementation until only 10 years following its initial conception.

In 2016, General Kiriya Kitagawa signed a treaty with the academy to admit Thors Academy students into Task Force 142, which served as a training ground for aspiring Thors graduates. The most famous regiment being Class VII. Currently, Thors Academy has served as a public research university and has become a member of IARU, CAU, and the ERAU.

Timeline of Chancellors

The Chancellor of the Thors Military Academy is the highest administrative position in its administrative division. The Chancellor has the power to veto or sign laws set forth by the board of directors and the chairman. The position of the Chancellor is often voted by 3 Board of Directors and proclaimed by the Chairman. 2 people are often nominated for the vote to start. Since its founding in 1945, the position of Chancellor has changed 10 times.

The inaugural Chancellor was Emperor Dreichels Reize Arnor, who served from 1945 until his voluntary resignation in 1952. The shortest tenured Chancellor was EWII and WoLA veteran Cpt. Kari Claussell, who served from 1988 to 1992 following his resignation.

The longest tenured Chancellor was then-Brig. Kiriya Kitagawa, who served from 1992 to 2008 for a total of 16 years. Kiriya's position was offered after a vote of no confidence was given to the nominees. The board of directors initially offered the position to Brig. Arata Kitagawa, who worked on improving Erebonia's army doctrine. His work with the Erebonian Army prevented him from accepting the job and instead offered it to his son, who accepted. Kiriya's tenure also bought massive changes and overhauled the academy's doctrine, as well as abolishing nobility meddling. He resigned in 2008 as a result of the Second Lucis Civil War. He returned to the position in 2019 following the Erebonian Civil War in order to restore the academy to its pre-war state. Kitagawa would serve for 21 years in addition to his 16 year term, making him the longest serving Chancellor in Thors Academy's history, as well as the longest serving non-Erebonian servant working in one of Erebonia's academies. He retired at the age of 75. His daughter, Katsuragi Kitagawa who had served as the Faculty of Business' regent was voted to succeed him, making her the first female to hold the position, and the second foreigner to hold the position of Chancellor in Thors Academy's history.
