Amalfi

  • Aegata: battle of the Aegates Islands.
  • Balinus: a shoddy Latinisation of the word for a whale.
  • Cocrana: Zefram Cochrane, who in Star Trek canon invents the warp drive.
  • Duderus: Duder, a very Astyrian reference.
  • La Frana: Llafranc, seaside town in Catalonia.
  • Limoncia: lemons.
  • Mygda: Amygdalus, subgenus including almonds (reflecting the province's shape).
    • Mygda's flag also depicts an almond tree.
  • Myras: Conger myriaster, a species of eel.
  • Nalocia: Battle of Naulochus.
  • Orada: Catalan name for bream (a fish).
  • Tarosis: Taros, a kingdom in Total Annihilation: Kingdoms.
  • Ticinus: River Ticinus, one of Hannibal's battles.
  • Trasimene: Lake Trasimene, one of Hannibal's battles.
  • Trevia: River Trebia, one of Hannibal's battles.
  • the motto of the Supreme Court, Pro Magna Aequitate, references Zero Wing's famous line "For great justice".

  • Ayastoc Abazu: Serbian words jastog and abažur, meaning "lobster" and "lampshade", respectively.
  • Cevrazu: Veracruz, Mexico.
  • Cuyuotl: Kwout, from Astyria.
  • Eltoajon: Elton John.
  • Entaftlian Ruoyorbisi: End of the Line, a song by the Traveling Wilburys, and Roy Orbison, a member of the same band.
  • Sarmize: Sarmizegetusa Regia, capital of classical Dacia.
  • Shala Lamarilo: Is This the Way to Amarillo, a song covered by Tony Christie.

Arimathea

  • Arimathea: the Biblical place of the same name.
  • Kerhnai Eloradi: most likely the Electric Light Orchestra album Eldorado.
  • Mayzhurn: Amazing Journey, a song by the Who.
  • Vertifem: New Vertiform City, holographic city in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Cadenza

  • Adrahil Kamënus: Adrahil, father of Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth in Lord of the Rings, and the Byzantine Komnenos dynasty.
  • Cadenza: a nice musical word.
  • Edarak and Janari: Basque words for food and drink.
  • Temir: Temuir, one of a number of Old Irish spellings for the Hill of Tara.

Kur'zhet

  • Benaan: banana, a fruit.
  • Kur'zhet: courgette, a vegetable.
  • Medlar: a fruit.
  • Ruh Barb: rhubarb, a vegetable.
  • the flag features a pomegranate, following the fruit/veg theme.

  • An Sord: Swords, County Dublin.
  • Ardencross: Ardnacrusha Dam.
  • Calymne: Greek island of the same name.
  • Carbery: the baronies in west Cork.
  • Chetwynd: the Chetwynd Viaduct, County Cork.
  • Corcaigh Nua: Cork City.
  • Dionn Uillinne: my Irish teacher used to say "dingaling" to get people's attention.
  • Escir: eskers.
  • Eochaill: Youghal, County Cork.
  • Helvick: fishing port in the Waterford Gaeltacht.
  • Kinsale: Kinsale, County Cork.
  • Lecan: the Yellow Book of Lecan, an early medieval Irish manuscript.
  • Lizarde: the Lizard, a Cornish headland with the same etymology, and Lissarda, County Cork.
  • Monastersnyme: Sneem, County Kerry.
  • Montrose: Battler of Montrose, a ship mentioned in the song The Bonnie Ship the Diamond.
  • Moraine: moraines.
  • Skerrick: Skerries.
  • Tallaght: Tallaght, County Dublin.
  • Tavsgorge: Irish name "Altán Taibhseach" translates as Gorgeous Gorge, alluding to the Snatch character Gorgeous George.
  • Tír Midire: Midir of Brí Leith, member of the legendary Tuatha Dé Danann.
  • Tremayne: Tremayne, a hamlet in Cornwall and the namesake of some Cornish people (and their descendants).

  • Chezzen: cheese.
  • Dam: alludes to various Dutch towns and therefore cheeses, particularly Edam.
  • Emmen[tal]: a type of cheese.

  • Havarti: a type of cheese.
  • Herve: a type of cheese.
  • Jarlsberg: a type of cheese.
  • Limburg: Limburger, a type of cheese.
  • Mols, house of: a region in Denmark famous for its cheese.
  • Oswald Kramer: Oswald of Carim, a Dark Souls character.

  • Iruska: Irun, town in the Basque country.
  • Kalku: Calico, ghost town and former silver mining town in the Mojave Desert.
  • Kaurapip: Curepipe, Mauritius.
  • Khorvu: Corfu.
  • Morikz: Mauritius.
  • Lúiv: the Serbian word "ljubav", probably.
  • Onostada: Donostia (San Sebastian), Basque seaside city.
  • Palaegon/House Palaegos: Byzantium's Palaiologos dynasty.
  • Parthenope: an old name for Naples.
  • Prosperity Hills: their max elevation, 1701 metres, refers to the registration of Star Trek's USS Enterprise.
  • Reqriu: Rincrew, near Youghal, County Cork.
  • Retikh: SimCity's loading dub "reticulating splines", possibly.
  • Rha'gutza: Ragusa, now Dubrovnik.
  • Sarma: a Serbian dish.
  • Tamari Valley and Tamarind Falls: Tamarin, Mauritius.
  • Tasarin: a fast-food chain in Ireland called "Tasty Bite" which needs to learn kerning. Its signs mostly read "Tas tybite".
  • Temuir: one of a number of Old Irish spellings for the Hill of Tara.
  • Tenedos: Aegean island in the Aeneid.
  • Uanax, naturalist: wánax, Ancient Greek for "king".
  • Vacoas: town of the same name in Mauritius.
  • Vedalera: Eamon de Valera, President of Ireland.
  • Velar (Sea of, Isles of): LeVar Burton, actor who played Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
  • Ymni: "imní", the Irish for anxiety or worry.
  • Zanurika Ivezhqoima Geretamí (Principality Air Guard): ZIG fighters from Zero Wing.
    • its motto, Pro magna iustitia, also references Zero Wing's famous line "For great justice".
