Montecara, also known as Monty, is a person who has participated in NS since 2004. His sole nation, Montecara, has been located in Kylaris since 8 August 2019. It was previously located in Esquarium from 16 April 2015.

He was born in Dallas, Texas and lived there for ten years before moving to Washington, D.C., where he currently resides. He has a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in history.

Outside of NS, his interests include cooking (especially Italian cuisine and Tex-Mex), drinking (especially red wine, stouts, and porters), theater, biking, reading about history, and travel. His favorite music includes St. Vincent, Warpaint, Wolf Alice, alt-J, Tennis, Speedy Ortiz, MØ, Blood Orange, Arvo Pärt, and above all, Fiona Apple.
