The Gainesville Riots were a series of riots that occured on 4 August 1965 in Ure'naka, Garetolia, then known as Gainesville. The riots were headed by Garetolian nationalist Toro Monoka, and backed by Kano Molok'a, head of the Garetolian Independence Movement. The riots lasted for 19 hours, resulting in 12 deaths and 39 injuries. After the riots had subsided, 259 were arrested, and a joint statement made by Elizabeth II and Governor Leonard Coleman condemned the riots and urged the Garetolians to cease the actions committed during the riots. As of 2023, the Gainesville Riots remain the single deadliest single-day event in Garetolia since 1846.
