Vasil Bodnar (Narodyn: Васіл Мітиавіцч Боднар; Vasil Mityavich Bodnar; August 19, 1917 – April 1, 2006) was a Narozalic statesman and politician who served as the 10th president of Narozalica from 1983 to 1989. He was the first elected president to serve after the Sostava War and a founding member of Narozalica's dominant post-war Patriots' Front. Bodnar also served as president pro tempore of the State Assembly during its transitory period between 1982 and his election in 1983. He was one of the more influential members of the Partisans when they defected from Vilem Gardos' ruling government in 1979. Bodnar was previously a member of the NVNP between 1959 and 1971, and had served in both the Great War and Solarian War.

Born in Miersa in 1917, he grew up in the city of Noviborg to mercantile parents. His father was a member of the NVNP from 1922 to 1940, and became an influential politician in his home city. Bodnar was conscripted in 1934 and served in the 8th Army during the Horn Offensive, before being discharged later in 1935. He attended Lugin College in Krada from 1937 to 1940, before rejoining the army in 1944, serving in Amathia and Etruria during the Solarian War. Bodnar worked as a customs officer in Samistopol between 1946 and 1959 before pursuing local politics in Samistopol as a member of the NVNP. Despite a 12-year membership of the NVNP, Bodnar never attained any notable political positions in Samistopol, and eventually renounced the party after Vilem Gardos ascended to the presidency in 1971.

During Gardos' tenure, Bodnar was one of Sava Tokar's main co-conspirators as the threat of major civil conflict increased in a rapidly-changing Narozalica of the 1970s. He was a primary backer of military secession towards the late 1970s and was the architect of eventual mutinies during 1979. He served as a general in the Partisan militia between 1978 and 1982. Media in Euclea and the Asterias dubbed him the "Butcher of Burul" after his reported brutality towards Zalyk prisoners-of-war in 1980 and 1981, and his eventual elevation to the presidency saw devolved administration in Zalykia completely removed. As president, he aimed to consolidate the newly independent states that had emerged during the war. Often times using the threats of energy removal to force the new republics into aligning with Narozalica, especially in Vedmed, Bodnar eventually gathered the states to establish Samorspi in 1983. Abroad, he was encouraging of Vinalian reunification and took a more liberal, measured and partical stance toward the Euclean Community and MASSOR. Domestically, Bodnar paved the way for future dominance for the Patriots' Front in Narozalic politics with posturing of domestic political institutions and the implementation of voting methods that favoured the party in national and local elections. As he got older, Bodnar retracted more from his presidential duties, before passing legislation establishing five years as the term length for presidents and calling an election in 1989. Bodnar retired to Luchintsy shortly after, where he lived until his death in 2006.
