Vonzumier (Vierz: Wonzumier), officially the Republic of Vonzumier (Vierz: Republik Wonzumier), is a country located in South Artalia. It is spread across 35 federal provinces and 2 federal cities: Rossach, the largest city, and Niederau, the capital city. The country has an estimated population of 262 million people, making it the third-most populous sovereign state in the world.

Paleo-Artalians reached South Artalia as early as 14,000 years ago. Patyrian colonization began after the discovery of the Artalias by Hermann Preiss in 1499, and the land fell under Apelian control until its annexation by Vierzland in 1610. After disputes over political disenfranchisement and repression, Vonzumier declared independence from the Vierz Empire in 1867 and won the ensuing war of independence. Slavery was abolished in the country in 1879. Vonzumier again fought Vierzland in the Frontier War of the late 1910s, emerging victorious in 1919 and securing its place as a relevant world power.

Vonzumier's economy was decimated by the mid-1920s worldwide depression, but returned to growth with the start of the Great War in 1942. Vonzumier fought with the Allied Powers from 1944 until their victory in 1947. Postwar developments led to the development of a global cold war, called the Silent War, between the Tierada- and Vonzumier-led liberal democratic bloc of the CSO and the Vierz-led CPCA. Vonzumier emerged as a global superpower with large economic, cultural, and military sway; the gradual disintegration of Tierada's colonial empire throughout the Silent War and the sudden collapse of the Vierz Empire in 1990 saw Vonzumier become the world's sole superpower, with some labelling it a hyperpower.

Vonzumier is a federal, semi-presidential republic with robust civil liberties and civil rights protections. The country is ethnically, racially, and culturally diverse; the vast majority of its inhabitants descend from immigrants, and hundreds of languages are spoken nationwide. Vonzumier is a founder of the International Assembly, the Artalian Forum, and various other international organizations. Its Human Development Index rating and GDP per capita measures have ranked in the top 10 globally for decades. Vonzumier spends more on its military, both gross and per capita, than any country in the world.
