The Commonwealth of Wazóvia-Loṭuyę, commonly known as The Commonwealth, or just "Wazóvia" or "Loṭuyę" is a constitutional monarchy in central Euclea. It is bordered by Kaxakh to the east, Samodeia and Virap to the North, Gaullica to the West, and the numerous nations in the Abares to the south. The Commonwealth is a average-sized nation, with # km2 (# sq mi), making it one an averaged sized Euclean, with an estimated 2016 census population of #. The country's population centres are spread across, but vast tracks of rural and untouched land are still the majority of the landscape. It is a constitutional Monarchy with the capital, Ustowanię in the central province of Ustowanię, the country's largest city. The state is Secular. The total area of The Commonwealth is ## square kilometres (## sq mi), making it the # largest country in the world and the # largest in Euclea. With a population of over 49 millon, The Commonwealth is the 3 most populous country in the world, the # most populous country in Euclea, and the # most populous member of the Euclean Union, as well as the most populous post-communist member of the Euclean Union. The Commonwealth is a unitary state divided into # administrative subdivisions.

The establishment of a Commonwealth member state can be traced back to 603 AD, when Bożydar III, ruler of a territory roughly coextensive with that of present-day Wazóvia, converted to Solarian Catholicism. The Kingdom of Wazóvia was founded in the same year, and in 805 AD it cemented a longstanding political association with the Grand Duchy of Loṭuyę by signing the Union of Ustowanię. This union formed the Wazóvian-Loṭuyan Commonwealth, one of the largest and most populous countries of 16th and 17th-century Euclea. The Commonwealth ceased to exist in the years 1799-1803, when its territory was partitioned among The Kaysertum, the Kaxakh Empire, and Gaullica. The Commonwealth regained its independence (as the State of the Wazóvians) during The Great War in 1924. Towards the end of the war in 1934, the Socialst Kaxakh State created the Peoples' Republic of Wazóvia, known as the PRW. During the Revolutions of 1989 Wazóvia's Communist government was overthrown and Wazóvia adopted a new constitution establishing itself as a Constitutional Monarchy. Both Gaullica and Kaxakh had a difficult time managing occupation of The Commonwealth, with multiple rebellions and revolts being common throughout the 1800s and 1900s. Despite the large number of casualties and destruction the country experienced during The Great War, The Commonwealth managed to preserve much of its cultural wealth and heritage throughout all of its various ethnic groups. There are 12 heritage sites inscribed on the EC Euclean Heritage and 69 Historical Monuments and many objects of cultural heritage in The Commonwealth.

Since the beginning of the transition to a primarily market-based economy that took place in the early 1990s, The Commonwealth has achieved a "very high" ranking on the Human Development Index, as well as quickly improving economic freedom. The Commonwealth is a Monarchist country with an advanced high-income economy, a high quality of life and a very high standard of living. Moreover, the country is visited by nearly 18 million tourists every year (2014), which makes it one of the most visited countries in the world. The Commonwealth is the # largest economy in the Euclean Union and among the fastest rising economic states in the world. The country is the sole member nation of the Euclean Union to have escaped a decline in GDP and in recent years was able to "create probably the most varied GDP growth in its history" according to BONAI, a Senouillac-based foreign exchange company. Furthermore, according to the Global Peace Index for 2014, The Commonwealth is one of the safest countries in the world to live in.

Etymology

The Commonwealth goes by many different names depending on the language and ethnic group. In Wazóvian, the name derives from a Central Slavic tribe of Wazóvs, (Wazónie) that inhabited the Łarta River basin of the historic Greater Wazóvia region in the 8th-century. The origin of the name Wazónie itself derives from the central Slavic word Wazó (beserk), said so because of their use of berserkers in combat. In some foreign languages such as Samodeian, Loṭuyan, Fars, and Tataric, the exonym for Wazóvia is Wazik (Wazikici), which derives from the name of a semi-legendray ruler of Wazóvians, Waz I.

The name in Kashian, Pomadki, and Sles are the same as they are in Wazóvian. The Kashians are a Slavic people living along the coast with Gaullica. The Sles and Pomadki are Slavo-Germanic peoples living by Virap, who speak Sles, a mix of Wazóvian and Weranian.

In Loṭuyan, the name for the Commonwealth, Sandraugos, comes from the Loṭuyan word for "Commonwealth." The word "Loṭuyan/Loṭuyę" comes from Saint Loṭuyę of Loṭuyę, the Catholic Priestess who converted the Loṭuyans, then called The Skidraus, to Solarian Catholicism. In Boltiprus, a closely related language, the word is "Sandriagas."

In Solarian, the official language of Commonwealth Politics, the name of the Commonwealth is "Publicae." It is Solarian for "Commonwealth."

The Commonwealth is commonly called "Du Commonwealth" in Gaullican, for "The Commonwealth."

In Kaxakh, Demko and Yuzhnayan, the Commonwealth is commonly called "Sodruzhestvo." This is both Kaxakh and Yuzhnayan for "The Commonwealth." Despite being a small minority by the Kaxakh border, many Commonwealth Kaxakh and Yuzhnayans are very Pro-Commonwealth, and many are refugees, such as the small number of Atudites, or political enemies of the Kax state. The Demko are a West Slavic group living in mountains mainly by the Kaxakh borders.

In Atudite, the Commonwealth is commonly called "Der Kamanvelt." Many Atudites are in the military, and have a large history of the Commonwealth, being welcomed into it when nobody else would take them in.

A subgroup of Atudite, a Bahian/Coius native group, called Tatarics, originally came to the Commonwealth during its height as Salamic Mercenaries, and eventually became a part of Commonwealth society. They converted mainly to Atudism, and the remainder are almost all Catholic. The name of the Commonwealth in Tataric is "Míllętlęr Toplólółó," "The Commonwealth."

The Samodeians in the Commonwealth share much in common with the Kaxakh and Yuzhnayans, being political refugees. In Samodeian, the Commonwealth is, like most other languages, a direct translaton, "Az Közösségében."

In Weranian, many of whom are Vredlandian, the Commonwealth is called "Die Gemeinschaft."

In Emo, it is commonly called the 𐍃𐌰𐌼𐍆𐌰𐌹𐌻𐌳𐌴𐍄, or Samvadet. "Commonwealth."

In Husani, the Commonwealth is typically called "Ke Raashtramandal." "The Commonwealth."

History

Before Civilization

In the millions of years prior to humanity, the piece of land now known today as the Commonwealth was first covered in lush jungles and swamps, and was located around the equator. It gradually moved north throughout the millions of years with the rest of Euclea. In 2008, the oldest ancestors of dinosaurs in the world so far were found in the eastern Demko Region, which were around the size of a small dog, walked on all fours, and generally ate small animals and leaves. The fossils were around 280 million years old.

Around the lake with Gaullica, the fossils of various lifeforms, such as trilobites and eurypterids have been found as well.

As they evolved and life took shape, the Cambrian explosion took place, and many organisms, such as giant bugs and small creatures evolved and lived in the Commonwealth.

The first humans entered the Commonwealth in #### BCE. They, like all others, were hunters and gatherers, and they hunted various animals such as Aurochs, Mammoths, and more. They made stone tools, namely arrowheads, knives, hammers, adzes, and axes. Wood was also commonly used.

It is believed that before the first humans came, :notNeanderthals: inhabited sections of the Commonwealth.

Foreign Relations

The Commonwealth is a Central Euclean Nation and member of the Euclean Community and DITO, among others. In recent years, The Commonwealth has extended its responsibilities and position in Euclean and Eastern affairs, supporting and establishing friendly foreign relations with both the East and with numerous Euclean countries.

After regaining independence in 1989, The Commonwealth has forged ahead on its economic reintegration with the Eastern world. The Commonwealth also has been an active nation in advocating CSS states to defect and join DITO and the EC.

In 1992, The Commonwealth became an associate member of the Euclean Community (EC) and its defensive arm, the ECFOR. In 1994, The Commonwealth achieved full OECD membership and submitted preliminary documentation for full EC membership. In 1993, The Commonwealth was invited in the first wave of DITO policy enlargement at the July 1993 DITO Summit in s'Holle, Hennehouwe. On June 24th, 1994, The Commonwealth became a full member of DITO. The Commonwealth promoted its DITO candidacy through energetic participation in the Partnership for Peace (PfP) program and through intensified individual dialogue with DITO. The Commonwealth formally joined the European Community in January 1995. The Commonwealth is currently working to establish the Ustowanię group, a economic union of ex-Commonwealth and ex-CSS states.

The Commonwealth is a part of the multinational force in Nuranz.

The collapse of the Communist Commonwealth led to the establishment of various new sovereign states in the Commonwealth (Wazóvia, Lothuye, the Demko State, Slesia, Borbia, and Kaśia), of which all joined The Commonwealth within a week. The Commonwealth has actively pursued good relations with all its neighboring countries, sans Kaxakh, signing friendship treaties replacing links severed by the collapse of the Eastern CSS. The Commonwealth has forged special relationships with SDP in an effort to firmly anchor these states to the East.

Due to its tragic historical experience with a repeating pattern of disloyal allies and simultaneous aggression of powerful neighbors (e.g., Partitions of Wazóvia, Great War, Great Atudaic Purge of 1942), The Commonwealth's foreign policy pursues close cooperation with a strong partner, one apt enough to give strong military support in times of critical situations. These are generally considered to be the EC and Asteria. This creates the background of The Commonwealth's tight relations with the The Federation of Asteria and their sensitivity in relations towards its partner within the Euclean Community, Gaullica.

The diplomatic relation between The Commonwealth and Kaxakh along with its CSS allies is tattered and tarnished, with the CSS recognizing the current government of The Commonwealth as a group of terrorists. This began in the 1988 revolt against Communist rule in The Commonwealth. Arrest warrants are put out for all those who join any form of government, and it is believed that the NKVD has a "death list" for thousands of Commonwealth citizens to be killed, as they would pose a threat in any case of reoccupation. Tensions are at an all time high with the Fifth Internationale in Kaxakh placing the Hero of the Revolution award to Jausé Lambert, the assassin of Prezydent Roland Paweł, who helped lead forces in the rebellion against Kaxakh. The Commonwealth continues to incentivise immigrants from CSS nations to come to the Eastern World.

To this day, the border between Kaxakh and The Commonwealth remains a tense standoff, with flares every few months. Infantry units of various DITO nations are assigned to the border. The Kaxakh threat remains one of the most prominent reasons for volunteer service in the military.

Languages

The official language of the Commonwealth is Comargosku, due to tradition and the fact that the Commonwealth is regarded as a place with "so many regional languages that you'll want to rip your hair out and eat it, not to mention that all of them are impossible to learn.". Almost every region has its own language. Only Comargosku is taught in schools as a compulsory language, along with the regional language of the province. The national curriculum states one secondary language, such as Emos or Borbian, must be taken by students during their education to assist in communication. Most of the population is bilingual or multilingual to some form, with Estmerian being a popular second language in the country, after Gaullican.

Comargosku developed as an "interlingua," or international language in the early 1800s, during foreign occupation. It was first used, along with its script, as a secret code used by rebel groups that gradually began to spread to the general public. It is romance based, with extremely heavy influences from the languages of the Commonwealth, Samodeia, and Gaullica.

The government does not regulate the choice of language in publications by individuals or in commercial and workplace communications, and promotes local languages and linguistic research. The current head of the Commonwealth Linguistics Ministry is .

Religions in The Commonwealth are recorded through five censuses; the The Commonwewalth National Census, the Regional Surveys, the Loṭuyan General Census, Neopagans and Atudites for Jesus, and the Euclean Social Survey. According to the 2015 CNC the largest religion in The Commonwealth is Solarian Catholicism at #% of the populace. The other most common religions in the commonwealth are Atudism, along with various Neopagan sects, other forms of Soritanity, namely western orthodox, and followed by Coconut Worship and irreligion/atheism.

Religious attendance is high, with 92% of the populace for regular attendance, but congregation numbers of individual religions generally swell at their own large religious events. An example of this would be the increase in numbers at Solarian Masses at Christmas.

During its height in the 1500s and 1600s, the Commonwealth was the first nation in Euclea to allow complete freedom of religion, passing the act in 1505.

Atudaism exists in The Commonwealth through historical communities that became present following their diaspora and as well through the migration from western Euclean nations following their annexation into Kaxakh following the Great War. Atudaism gained a prominence in The Commonwealth following the revolution against Communism, where many of the local Atudes returned from Gaullica and other eastern nations and reintegrated into Commonwealth society.

Atheism and irreligious nature has slowly grown since 1936 given the state's secular nature and the advancement and discoveries of science. However, its presence in the Commonwealth according to the 2015 Census is still a one of low percentage.

Other religions exist in The Commonwealth, as aforementioned, mainly through migration or through the spirit of the 1990s 'old religion' fervor when individuals converted to religions of ancient nature for their cultural connections.
