Zion is the theological capital of Deseret, and the headquarters of the Smithic Church. Located on the Jordan river between Nephi and Moab, it was founded by President Mordecai upon the declaration of the Smithic State at the conclusion of the Great Smithic War. It has a permanent population of around 1.5 million, but sees upwards of 4 million pilgrims a year. As the holy city of the Smithic faith, it is closed to all non-Smithics.
