The AS.400 is Sieuxerrian a twin-engine cargo aircraft designed to deliver mail and other supplies to carries from land-based installations. It provides critical supplies to carrier strike groups when embarked at sea. It transport high-priority cargo such as jet engines, passengers, and other special stores. Later the AS.400 would later be used by both the Air Force and the Army in a tactical transport role, which would make it one of the few tri-service aircraft in the armed forces.

- AS.400
- Initial prototype that first flew in 1968.
- AS.400A
- Production variant, first flew in 1969 and accepted into service in 1970, 46 produced.
- AS.400B
- Improved propellers, navigation equipment, and strengthened landing gear. 39 produced.
- AEW&C aircraft fitted Thompson-CSF XR204 scanned array radar and SNECMA 425D turboporp engines to be used off carriers. 22 produced.
- AS.500
- Variant produced for the army and air force. Lengthened aircraft 4 meters, fitted with engines from AS.400E, used for dropping paratroopers, mission-critical supplies, and to MEDEVAC injured personnel. Can carry 35 paratroopers, 18 stretchers, or 4 pallets.
- AS.500H
- Flying hospital used for medical treatment in combat zones both on the ground and in the air. Aircraft have a large red cross displayed on the fuselage, tail, and the wings. Carries 4 flight surgeons and can carry 10 patients.
