Antonio Gérard DeLoroza-Augustín, a.k.a. Antonio "Ironsides" DeLoroza, is a former military commander and is currently serving as the sixth Chief of Staff of the Inyurstan Armed Forces. He is famous for his so-called "front-line leadership" as well as his sucessful actions and policies during the decade-long Lolloh-Ruolnik War.

Early Life

Antonio DeLoroza was born in the coastal city of Nuveau Lyon to a middle-class family. In 1960 due to the progress of the Inyurstan Civil War, his father was disappeared by the Solévereux regime and his mother along with his grandparents was forced to take him and his sister into exile "across the channel" in the Merick Isles. For at least nine years, Antonio lived his childhood away from his homeland.

When he returned to Inyursta, Antonio was very vocal about his intention to join the military according to sources close to his family. In later personal interviews, DeLoroza revealed that his younger self held the socialists and their foreign supporters directly responsible for the death of his father.

Military Career

In 1982 Antonio DeLoroza was commissioned as a Lieutenant Dozième (Second Lieutenant) in the 3rd Armor Brigade. By 1986 he was a Captain at the position of Company Commander, and his forces directly took part in Operation: Espade de la Justicìe and despite heavy casualties was able to break the siege of Corridas Army Airfield.

DeLoroza was placed in command of the mixed-branch (comprising of both Army and Marines) 1st Frònte based out of Elescu in Ruolnik. He formed a close relationship both Ruol top commander General Samuel Bulregard and his own Mericki counter-part (to which many credit as his time as a refugee in the MI); and the two were able to devise and execute a mass deception operation drawing the Lollohians to pool their forces across a single, widespread front. During the counter-offensive, General DeLoroza personally took charge of a "tank" (later revealed to be a "command variant" of the YT-3 Crocodile) and rode it into battle. While the vehicle was not on the front lines, the move drew severe criticism from his superiors, who criticized the move as quote "...reckless, and runs the risk of incurring imminent harm to himself and continued operations..."; however, with the success of the attack DeLoroza's actions raised morale among the troops and earned him the nickname "Ironsides". He was also credited with the successful defense of the captured Lollohian capital, Dekkar; and the tactics of DeLoroza and the 1st FR wrote the book for future Inyurstan urban operations such as the Siege of Alexandroupolis.

Following the breaking of the Siege of Dekkar, he was appointed Commandante Suprème of Inyurstan forces in the Lolloh-Ruolnik region. He was later recalled to Castille de Terro to replace Veni Javez Chief of Staff; a move many see as an attempt by the Peresque Administration to secure the loyalty of the military, who had built a tense and untrusting relationship under the Yero Administration advice earlier in the war.

Chief of Staff

As Chief of Staff, DeLoroza continued to take an active role - to which his critics have labeled "micromanaging" - in the overseeing of post-war operations in the Lolloh-Ruolnik. He also pushed for funding of several modernization projects, most notably the addition of a ramjet engine for the C-120 Rapier.

DeLoroza remained as Chief of Staff when Jean-Baptiste Calderone was elected president. The practice of leaving key members of the military brass in place despite changes in the civilian government is not uncommon in Inyursta; however, it is still widely speculated that DeLoroza was a private supporter of Calderone and a shadow-ally of Sebastian Solano.

Personal Life

He is currently divorced, but has three adult children and currently four grandchildren.

Antonio DeLoroza has two silver margay cats as pets, Símon and Sebastian.
