The Battle of Shanghai (Han: 淞滬會戰) was the third of the 36 major engagements fought between the National Revolutionary Army (NRA) of the Republic of China (ROC) and the Imperial Arcadian Army (IAR) of the Arcadian Empire at the beginning of the Second Great War (TPU). It lasted from September 6, 1941 to December 12, 1941, and was one of the largest and bloodiest battles of the entire war, later described as "flesh grinder". After over three months of extensive fighting on land, in the air and at sea, the battle concluded with a victory for Arcadia.
