Dongjing

Dongjing is a major city and special municipality in Songguo and is the center of the imperial court and the government of the imperial demesne. It is located on the banks of the Lai River, near Tianjing, at the edge of the Capital Region. Dongjing has served as the capital of Songguo for most of the last 2,500 years. With a population of nearly 9 million it is among the largest cities in Kylaris. Dongjing is sometimes called the White City because of the color of the bricks it is largely built with.

Etymology

"Dongjing" means "Eastern Capital". The name comes from the late An Dynasty, when the state of Song shifted its capital to the location.
