Summary

Description
English: Coat of arms of Patria del Friuli (Italy).
Blazon: Eagle on a blue field. The head is turned to the left, the body, legs and wings are yellow, and the claws are red.
Italiano: Stemma della Patria del Friuli.
Blasone: Aquila in campo azzurro. Il capo è rivolto a sinistra. Il corpo, le zampe e le ali sono di colore giallo e gli artigli di colore rosso.
Origine: La bandiera risale ai tempi del Patriarcato di Aquileia, che dal 1077 al 1420 governò come stato sovrano, vassallo del Sacro Romano Impero. L’esemplare più celebre e antico del vessillo patriarcale è esposto nel Museo del Duomo di Udine. Si tratta di un drappo quadrangolare (61 x 65,5 cm) di seta color grigio-azzurro, che faceva parte del corredo funerario del patriarca Bertrando di Saint Geniès. La bandiera della Patria del Friuli non va confusa con quella dell’istituzione amministrativa “Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia”, simile per la presenza di un’aquila e del colore di sfondo. Il rapace è però posto in diversa posizione. La bandiera regionale ha un’origine molto successiva (1963) e un diverso significato.

Blason: Aquile sul sfonz blu. Il čhâv rivoltât a man čampe, cuarp, čatis e alis sòn ğâlis e lis sgrifis rosis.
