Le 6 août 1223, à Reims, Louis VIII le Lion et son épouse Blanche de Castille, sont couronnés par l'archevêque Guillaume de Joinville, en présence de Hugues IV, duc de Bourgogne, du comte de Flandre et de l'évêque de Beauvais, qui tiennent respectivement la couronne de la reine, l'épée et la dalmatique du roi ; des prélats et des barons du royaume.
