Tsujimura Seiji Nihhonese: 辻村誠司 Seiji Tsujimura (18 August 1961) is a New Akibander politician who served as the 38th Prime Minister of New Akiba. He was succeeded by Violette Evergreen after his resignation.
Born in Auckland before moving to Christchurch as a child, Seiji studied in the University of Canterbury and graduated in 1981 with a bachelor of commerce. He began a career in the foreign exchange market in New Akiba before moving overseas to work for Schyster & Goldstein, in which he became head of global foreign exchange in 1995, a position he would hold for two years. He returned to New Akiba ran in the 1998 elections and won the seat for the Mayor of Auckland. He was defeated in the 2001 elections but he returned for another term in the 2003 elections and won, making him the first person to hold the position before and after the amalgamation of the Auckland "Super City".
In the 2005 elections, Seiji entered the New Akiba Parliament representing the Auckland electorate of Helensville as one of the few National members of Parliament elected in 2005 following the National's significant defeat that year. In 2008, he replaced Rinna Kushikawa as the Leader of the National Party and became the 32nd Leader of the Opposition after her resignation. Two months later, Seiji would lead the National Party in the 2008 elections. In 2017, he resigned and requested that he would be assigned to a ministerial role. His request was subsequently granted when the succeeding Prime Minister Evergreen appointed him as Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs after taking her oath as Prime Minister.
As Prime Minister, Seiji led the Fifth National Government of New Akiba entering government during the 2008 Global Recession. His government implemented personal tax cuts. Seiji also introduced a job hiring system for the poor, in which businesses would register to recruit non-employed workers and reduce poverty. New Akiba during his term became first place as the least corrupt country in the world, beating Jutland-Gimli, which had held the position since 1997. Seiji introduced the Renewable Energy Bill, in which Wind farms, solar power plants, and wave power plants were built, drastically reducing electricity costs and increasing the use of renewable energy sources. In 2014, he introduced the Jobs & Livelihood Bill, in which government-owned enterprises created additional jobs for the poor providing homes, livelihood, and work to eliminate street beggars. Several corporate companies during his term were also partially publicized such as Air New Akiba, Vecro River Power, New Akiba Telecommunications Company, and Hinamatsu Heavy Industries.
In regards to Ingelmia, the Trans-Bellhals Relations were generally warm during his term. After his term, however, the Oceanian Crisis broke out, which prompted him to advise his successor to place sanctions and penalties to residing Ingelmians in New Akiba, placing all under security watch.
Overall, Seiji's term as Prime Minister is highly-regarded. During his term, electricity costs in New Akiba became the lowest. It also made the country the first country to place emphasis on environmental care.
