Visa policy of Radictistan

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Visa policy of Radictistan is relatively liberal in its application. Most short-term visits to Radictistan do not require a visa. Exemptions are made in the case of citizens of countries which are deemed to be an exceptional security risk.

Visa-free entry

International visitors from most countries do not require a visa if staying for less than ninety days and refraining from paid employment. Furthermore, the Radictistani government does not require visas for persons who arrive in Radictistan by air and depart to a third country without passing through immigration control. This privilege is granted even to persons who would normally be required to obtain a visa for short-term non-commercial travel.

Visa entry

A current visa is required for all entry into Radictistan by citizens of certain countries with which Radictistan has poor relations or deems its citizens a potential security risk. The official list of countries subject to visa requirements is maintained by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and updated regularly based on diplomatic and political conditions. A Radictistani visa consists of a machine readable document placed within the traveler's passport. In most cases a Radictistani visa is obtained through an application to a Radictistani embassy, consulate, or interests section. The entire process of obtaining a Radictistani visa usually takes 3-5 business days in the case of a Category B document.

Visa categories

Category A Visa

Category A Visas, commonly referred to as diplomatic visas, are issued to accredited foreign diplomats, foreign diplomatic employees, and other foreign officials travelling to Radictistani on official business, plus members of their immediate families. These visas bypass the normal visa procedure and are essentially granted upon request from a qualified person. Their purpose is mostly to identify foreign diplomats who are to enjoy special treatment from Radictistani security forces and bureaucracy.

Category B Visa

Category B Visas are required for persons "visiting temporarily for business or pleasure" who because of their nationality do not qualify for visa-free travel. Category B visas allow for a maximum stay of ninety days. Visa holders are not permitted to obtain employment in Radictistan, but may conduct business on behalf of their foreign employer. B Visas may be granted for an extended period of six months under certain conditions. B Visas are valid for an unlimited number of entries over a six month period.

Category C Visa

Category C Visas entitle a person to work in Radictistan for a period of up to one year. They can be renewed for up to six years with proof of gainful employment. A thirty day grace period occurs if a C Visa holder becomes unemployed to allow time for the individual to obtain another job or leave Radictistan without incurring sanctions. C-1 visas are granted to skilled (pursing work requiring a university degree or postsecondary vocational training) workers while the rarer C-2 visas go to unskilled laborers in critical fields.

Category D Visa

Category D Visas are for persons enrolled in Radictistani academic institutions. D-1 visas are issued to higher education students while primary and secondary students are issued D-2 visas. D-3 visas are issued to spouses and children of D-1/D-2 visa holders.

Category E Visa

Category E Visas are the primary avenue for legal immigration to Radictistan. A variety of E visa variants exist for different categories of immigrants:

  • E-1 visas are issued for the purpose of family reunification. A visa applicant must be the spouse, minor child, or parent of a Radictistani citizen and be sponsored by the relative holding Radictistani citizenship. E-1 visas are awarded by lottery.
  • E-2 visas are for persons suffering from political, cultural, religious, racial, or gender-based persecution in their county of citizenship. These are not subject to any numerical limitation.
  • E-3 visas are employment-based immigrant visas. They are issued to persons with an advanced degree or a baccalaureate and at least three years of continuous experience in that profession. Priority is given to persons with degrees in the sciences and engineering. E-3 visas are not subject to any numerical limitation.
  • E-4 visas are another type of employment-based immigrant visa. An E-4 document is issued to person with exceptional achievements in the sciences, arts, and business. Issuance of an E-4 visa is not subject to any numerical limitation.
  • E-5 visas are issued to persons who are coming to Radictistan either to obtain a terminal academic degree or to fill a high-level teaching or research position at a Radictistani college or university and wish to obtain permanent resident status. E-5 visas are subject to an annual cap and awarded by lottery.
  • E-6 visas are issued to persons who have invested at least R$8,000,000 in a Radictistani commercial enterprise. The investment must create or sustain at least twenty jobs held by citizens of Radictistan. The E-6 visa is subject to an annual cap of 12,000.

Category F Visa

A Category F Visa is issued when the Radictistani government desires that a particular person be allowed entry into Radictistan who does not qualify for another type of visa and when the nature of the visit is not sufficiently clandestine as to require a visa of another category to be issued irregularly.

Direct Airside Transit Visa

Persons who arrive in Radictistan by air and intend to depart immediately thereafter by aircraft after a change of terminal must obtain a Direct Airside Transit Visa. While classified as a visa, the DATV requires limited formalities. It is typically purchased upon arrival in Radictistan. The DATV does not allow travel within Radictistan, it is merely a pass required for transit through Radictistani immigration checkpoints.
