The Chamber of the People Amathian: Ⰽⰰⰿⰵⱃⰰ Ⱂⱁⱂⱁⱃⱆⰾⱆⰹ, tr. Camera Poporului) is the lower house of the Senate of Amathia. It was established in 1981 by the Constitution of Amathia, and it is seated in the central capital of Arciluco. Its 329 deputies are elected once every four years by Amathian citizens over the age of 18, using a system of party-list proportional representation. Several seats are reserved for the political organizations of the recognized national minorities, with one per each minority being recognized as such by the state.
Together with the Chamber of the Nation, the Chamber of the People forms the legislative branch of the Amathian state and it holds its sessions in the Palace of the People.
Title
In Amathian, the lower house is known as Ⰽⰰⰿⰵⱃⰰ Ⱂⱁⱂⱁⱃⱆⰾⱆⰹ (Camera Poporului), literally, the Chamber of the People. A member of the chamber is known as a Deputy of the People (Ⰴⰵⱂⱆⱅⰰⱅ ⰰⰾ Ⱂⱁⱂⱁⱃⱆⰾⱆⰹ, Deputat al Poporului), or as a Senator (Ⱄⰵⱀⰰⱅⱁⱃ, Senator).
