The Citizen-Protector of Ainin (French: Citoyen(ne)-protecteur/trice de la République aininienne) is an office in Ainin under the Twenty-sixth Amendment to the Constitution of Ainin. According to the Constitution, the Cabinet of Ainin may declare a state of exception, which activates the office of Citizen-Protector and the emergency governing body of the War Cabinet of Ainin, during times of war or "other crisis imperilling the survival of the Republic." The Prime Minister of Ainin is ex officio Citizen-Protector of Ainin. The office is inspired by the ancient Latin republican office of dictator. It was established as a result of Ainin's shift from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system, seeing most of the wartime powers of the President provided for in the constitution transferred to the Prime Minister.

It was first invoked by the Cabinet on 4 June 2016 in the aftermath of the 2016 Nordania attacks, as President of the Republic Cao Nima was on a state visit to Namor and thereby unable to perform his constitutional duty of directing the Aininian Armed Forces.
