Clostary (Clostary: Closten; French: Cloitre) is a land-locked country in XX officially known as the County-Palatine of Clostary. It is bordered by XX. It is one of the smaller sovereign states in XX, with a population only a bit over 700,000, and is the only country known as a county-palatine in XX. As a constitutional monarchy, it is headed by the Count of Clostary, His Highness Prince Frederich.

Clostary occupies a highly mountainous upland region with a smaller lowland area in the East. The national language is also known as Clostary, although there is a sizeable French-speaking minority mainly in the lowlands.

The Clostrian economy is well-developed. Though Clostary is very protective of its agricultural industry, the dominant sector is banking and finance. There are also sizeable steel, iron, precision machinery and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, and tourism infrastructure is highly developed.

History

The first recorded inhabitants of the area which is now Clostary were XX, who are believed to have migrated from XX during the XX. During the 5th century, the Kingdom of Clostary was founded by the Closts. In XX, the Ronercians absorbed the kingdom into their empire, becoming a county. With the collapse of the Kingdom of Ronercia in the 13th century, Clostary reappeared as an fiefdom of XX. In the 18th century, the territories were sold to ZZ.

Anti-communist stuff here.

Happy ending.

Geography

The Rhedelwalden near Scharbig.

The majority of Clostary forms part of the XX and is known as the Clostarian Alps. The smaller lowland region in the eastern portion of the county is known as Grisland and is the most densely populated area dominated by industry. The capital, Scharbig, is situated at the border between the Alps and the Grisland.

Deciduous forest is the predominant vegetation in the Griflach area outside of agricultural land. The lower reaches of the Alps are densely forested, whilst the higher altitudes have a variety of alpine biomes.
