Duero, which is formally known as the Archduchy of Duero de Aqar (Oubastine: Archiduque del Duero de Aqar) is a member of the confederation of Mundaqar and ranks as the middle power between Braqara and Las Faldillas. The Archduchy was established by the reigning King of Oubastines, Alfonso X, during the course of the civil war as a way to retain his family's high status while they lost ground to Republican forces. Ultimately, Alfonso X was executed and a family from his retinue was agreed upon by Republican and Monarchist forces during the first peace deliberations.
