The terrorist attack against the Morning Gazette is a terrorist attack perpetrated against the independent newspaper the Morning Gazette on July 17 1993 in Dar Al Hamma. The mass shooting kills 4 persons including 2 journalists.

Course of the attack

On July 17 1993 at 3:30 pm, two armed men, Ilias Khayran and Karim Al Janash, parked their car in front of the newspaper premises and entered the building. They started shooting everyone inside, killing two journalists, Mohammed Dali and Ali Khadash. The terrorists ran back to their car and shot two persons passing by, including one reportedly calling the police.

Consequences

The team of journalists were moved to the premises of the newspaper Al Watan. 4 days later, new premises were opened in the west of Dar Al Hamma and a minute of silence was observed in memory for the four persons killed.
