The '''Automatic-Loading Infantry Rifle''' ({{wp|Czech language|Ostrozavan}}: ''Osobní Automatická Zbraň''), commonly referred to by its acronym, '''ALIR''' ({{wp|Czech language|Ostrozavan}}: ''OAZ''), is a select-fire rifle produced in [[North Ottonia]] and [[Ostrozava]] and used by the armed forces of both countries, first as standard service rifles, then in the {{wp|battle rifle}} role. It is still used by paramilitary Federal Guard and Civil Guard units in North Ottonia, and is commonly issued to army reservists.

It was developed from the same half-finished designs and prototypes as the Arthuristan [[L54 rifle]].

In [[North Ottonia]] it replaced the [[Republic Standard Rifles]] line of weapons as the standard {{wp|service rifle}}.

==Cartridge==
Initially developed for the North Ottonian {{wp|7.92x57mm Mauser|7.92x57mm}} rifle cartridge, the cartridge proved to be extremely difficult to control in automatic, and even semi-automatic fire. Not satisfied with the existing {{wp|7.92x33mm Kurz|8mm Short}}'s ballistic properties, a longer "short rifle" cartridge was developed for the ALIR project, resulting in the birth of the 7.92x48mm cartridge.
