The '''Free Land Party''' ({{wpl|French language|French}} [[Gylian languages reform of 1958–1959#French|reformed]]: ''Parti pour l'terre libre''), abbreviated '''FLP''' (''PTL''), is a [[List of political parties in Gylias|Gylian political party]], part of the {{G-NI}} bloc.

Established in 1961, it is a left-wing party that advocates [[Socialism in Gylias|agrarian socialism]].

==History==
The FLP was founded in 1961, as part of a proliferation of new parties after [[Law on Electoral Representation of 1960|electoral reform]]. It appeared through the consolidation of the rural factions of existing left-wing parties into a single separate party, aiming to represent the interests of Gylian farmers.

It performed very well in the [[Gylian federal election, 1962|1962 federal election]], establishing itself as one of the largest non-inscrit parties. It was aligned with the broader leftist bloc, lending outside support to the {{G-PA}}.

Due to its preoccupation with {{wpl|agrarianism|agrarian concerns}} and conservation, it is seen as a forerunner to {{wpl|eco-socialism}} and the {{G-GP}}.

It was part of the [[Filomena Pinheiro government]] in the 1980s, and later supported the [[Mathilde Vieira government]] in the 1990s and the [[Toni Vallas government]] in the 2010s.

==Ideology==
The FLP is an {{wpl|agrarian socialism|agrarian socialist}} party. Its platform includes {{wpl|Georgism|Georgist}} advocacy of a {{wpl|land value tax}}, support for {{wpl|agricultural cooperative}}s, opposition to {{wpl|industrial farming}} and private ownership of land, skepticism of {{wpl|free trade}}, and promoting the preservation of the countryside.

Within the leftist bloc, the party has notably close relations with the {{G-UM}}, seen as its "urban" counterpart, and the {{G-GP}}, {{G-APP}}, and {{G-NPP}}, which share its concern for conservation and lean towards {{wpl|economic nationalism}}, respectively.

The FLP uses a dark shade of red as its official colour.

==Popular support==
The FLP's support is concentrated in rural areas; it has no presence to speak of in urban areas. It is one of the largest parties in [[Elections in Gylias#Municipal elections|municipal elections]], especially in rural municipalities.
