The '''Republic of Namor''' (abbreviated as the '''RON''') was a sovereign state in eastern [[Velkia]] established in 1915. Between the reunification in Namor in 1921 and the retreat of the Republican government to [[Peitoa]] in 1925, the RON was the sole government of Namor.

The RON was founded by {{wp|republicanism|Namorese republicans}} in opposition to the [[Restoration of 1915]], which ended the fragile compromise that had existed between the monarchists and republicans following the [[Revolution of 1910]]. Though officially a multiparty state, the RON was actually controlled by the [[Republican Party of Namor]], a successor to the anti-monarchist [[Namorese Democratic Brotherhood]]. [[Jacob Cho]], the ousted prime minister under the constitutional monarchy, became the RON's first prime minister, but eventually ceded power to [[Jung To]], a general who led the RON's war on the restorationists in the six-year [[Unification War]]. 

Originally based in [[Mojing]], the RON moved the capital to [[Namo]] after the city surrendered to republican forces in 1921. That same year, a new constitution replaced the {{wp|parliamentary system}} with a {{wp|presidential system|presidential one}}; however, the disputed election of Jung To caused a rupture between the ruling Republican Party and the [[Liberationist Party of Namor|Liberationists]] - then the largest ''de facto'' opposition party - which in turn resulted in the outbreak of [[Namorese Civil War|another civil war]]. The Liberationists earned the support of the vast majority of Namorese peasants, in addition to smaller parties opposed to Jung's presidency. By 1925, the Republicans had effectively lost control of the mainland and relocated to Peitoa, which became the seat of the RON government.

The period between 1915 and 1925 is oftentimes referred to as the '''Republican decade''' (Кунгхо Деканин <small>tr.</small> ''Kungho Dekanin''). The Republican decade has been characterized by political and social strife, as well as by an unprecedented level of intellectual and religious freedom.
