The Arkavan Armed Forces (Russian: Вооруженные Cилы Республика из Аркава) encompasses the land, sea, and air components of the defense forces of Arkava. The President of Arkava heads the armed forces as Commander-in-Chief and is the supreme authority for military matters and is the sole official who can unilaterally authorize a military strike.

The armed forces of Arkava are largely concerned with domestic affairs, and utilize the Arkavan Gendarmerie to great effect to support its domestic intelliegence services and suppression of perceived threats to the state. The armed forces may effect any order of martial law, in the event of uprising or civil unrest. There is no constitutional requirement for the military to not interfere in civil affairs, which has in the past lead to military-led interventions in the governance of state in Arkava. In the event of natural disasters, the Arkavan Army and Gendarmerie typically spearhead a united response.

The General Staff Council is the senior-most advisory council to the President on all matters relating to the national defense, established in 1953. It serves as the main conduit to advise and inform the President on military readiness and strategic planning. Arkava maintains a relatively modest force size, attempting to update and modernize its fighting force in the last decade to promote a more efficient control of the battlespace. Much of their domestic security operations were handed over to the Gendarmerie in the mid-2010's.
