Etymology

From Middle Kerasian يای - yae ("egg white"), from Old Kerasian ياي - yai ("egg white"), from Aradeshi *yai ("egg white"), from Proto-Aradeshi *yai ("egg white"). Displaced and preferred over Lafaric-derived هاخ - hach ("egg white").
