The 1995 Tevitheimer grand chancellery election was the sixth sextennial grand chancellery election in Tevitheim. The Republican ticket of Jarl of New Hammerfest Aleksander Goreson and Alnatingsrepresentant of Rookeryet Joakim Sunde defeated the Social Union ticket and incumbent Vice Chancellor Jonas Støre of New Tremblant and Councilor to the People from Ilbahar Vulkan Mortison in the election, which was held 6 February 1995. It is the first of two Tevitheimer grand chancellery elections, along with the 2001 election, in which the winning candidate lost the popular vote, and is considered the first of the "Disasterous Three" elections that played a major role in Tevitheimer electoral reform.
Incumbent Social Union Grand Chancellor James Clinton was ineligible to seek a second term because of term limits established in the Tevitheimer Constitution. Incumbent Vice Chancellor Støre was able to easily secure the Social Union nomination with no major competition at the convention. He selected Councilor Vulkan Mortison of Ditka as his running mate. Goreson was considered a dark horse candidate for the Republican nomination, and after a contentious convention battle with Alnatingsrepresentant' Joakim Sunde, who later became his running mate for the general election. At 73 years old, Goreson was the oldest ever candidate nominated by a major party. As he was also nominated in 1965 at the age of 43, Goreson also holds the record for youngest ever candidate nominated by a major party. He also remains the only candidate to win the popular vote but lose the election (as he did in 1965) and later win the election while losing the popular vote (as he did in 1995).
Both major-party candidates focused primarily on domestic issues, such as the newly balanced budget, reconstruction after the Third Great War, tax policy, and Clinton's reform of the civil service, although foreign policy and the potential of war in Haganland were important issues as well. Despite Grand Chancellor James Clinton's popularity, Støre avoided campaigning with Clinton due to criticisms from Goreson that Støre was a puppet of Clinton.
The election was not decided until several weeks after the election with the electoral votes of the jarldom of Måkeøyene being undecided. Initial returns showed a victory for Støre but an automatic recount prevented Støre from being able to declare victory. A three week-long series of recounts led to Goreson winning by 3,232 votes out of over 3 million cast, a margin of less than 0.1% of the total vote in Måkeøyene. A similar situation occurred with the 11,100 votes in New Tremblant that decided the jarldom for Goreson. The combination of these two jarldoms was enough to sway the The recount and Goreson's victory despite losing the national popular vote was controversial and remains a source of controversy. Ultimately, Goreson won 186 electoral votes to Støre's 141 electoral votes with a combined margin of just over 14,000 votes deciding the election as a whole. This gave Goreson a victory in the electoral vote despite Støre winning the popular vote by 1.4 million, or 1.56% of all votes cast. This was the last election where Prospekt was a territory and not a full jarldom and the last election in which territories did not cast votes for grand chancellor.
