Richard Spears is a Vionnan nobleman and, among other titles, Duke of Darlington. He was, for a time, the youngest man in Vionna-Frankenlischian peerage to hold the title of Earl. He suceeded to the Earldom of Darlington following the death of his father, Edwin Spears. His cousin Anne, currently fourteen, is his heir and sole inheritor as he is unmarried and without issue. In 2016 he was involved in the Mariella Scandal in which Chloe Mariella claimed her newborn daughter, Isobel, was the illegitimate child of Richard which he denied, a small inquiry occured in late 2018.
In 2019, King James of Vionna-Frankenlisch named him Earl of Shiring and allowed him to assume the title of Duke of Darlington and Earl of Shiring. This title is often shortened to Duke of Darlington and Shiring.
