====Teachings and practices====
[[file:Adolf Fredriks kyrka September 2015 03.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Inside of a common Ilyçician Chapel]]
Ilyçians believe in the stories, moral teachings, and religious practices explained within the Hinna which is the foundation of the Ilycian theology. Divided into four "books", the Hinna includes: the story of God (Lausnari), the origins of death and the afterlife, and Lausnari's relationship with humanity, basic church doctrine, and collection of stories and moral lessons defining morality and ethics. Throughout its history, the Church of Pharexia has survived regional schisms and numerous theological disputes which have resulted in several adjustments in the majority beliefs of the religion as a whole. Nearly all Ilyçisians assert that the Hinna is a product of divine inspiration. They believe that Lausnari appeared to the Prophet Gísli Hinriksson in the year 900. They further maintain that Lausnari exhausted his physical form after the creation of time, divine servants, and paradise, leading to his physical death, but in dying, was first to enter eternity and opened the way for the rest of humanity.

====Prayer====
The Church encourages all people to pray daily. In scripture, Lausnari tells his believers, "Ye shall call upon the Father in my name." Prayer is viewed a means of communication between man and Lausnari. It is Ilyçisian belief that Lausnari hears the sincere prayers of all people because they are his physical children and because he knows all things. The Church believes that Lausnari is to be approached in prayer with reverence, but the specific words of a prayer do not have a prescribed form. According to the Church's official theology, the First Vision of Gísli Hinriksson came in answer to a prayer of sincere faith, and that this is a gift promised to all.

====Social principles====
The Church of Pharexia opposes all forms of abortion procedures since doctrine states that "human life should and protected invariably from the moment of biological conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person." Doctrine code S-12 of the Canon of Ilyçisian Belief states immediate excommunication for members of church who procure, assist in, conduct, or pay for a medically unnecessary abortion. In addition to teaching that abortion is immoral, the State Church also makes public statements and takes actions in opposition to its legality. They opposed the 1981 Devolution of Abortion Act and supported the Right to Life Act of 2019.

===Reformed Church of Ilyçisia===

Revision as of 01:28, 23 November 2019

Though varied religious communities exist in Pharexia, 95% of Pharexians adhere to Ilyçisianism. Within this, the largest grouping is the Church of Pharexia: approximately 8-in-10 identified themselves with that denomination in 2019. Members of the Church of Pharexia have very high church attendance rates compared to members of both other religions and other Ilyçisian churches, with 78% regularly attending church services in 2017. Throughout history, religion in Pharexia has been characterized by a diversity of religious beliefs and practices, and has been an important part of the country's culture. Religious diversity and religious tolerance are both established in the country by the law and custom; the Canon of Prosperity and Fidelity has declared the right to freedom of religion to be a fundamental right.
