The Independent Socialist Party (Dutch: Onafhankelijke Socialistische Partij; Frisian: Ûnôfhinklike Sosjalistyske Partij; French: Parti Socialiste Indépendant) is a social democratic and multilingual political party in Waterland.

History

In the 1930s the party was the leading force in the resistance against the Military Coup.

Ideology

  • free healthcare and education for Waterlanders

Factions

The Socialist Democrats are the largest faction of the party. The faction is known for its pacifism and moderate social democratic views.

Avondrood is the socialist-intellectual faction of the party.

The Marxists are the most left-wing faction of the party. After the fall of the Berlin Wall the faction lost a lot of influence in the party.
