The Great Diet of the Kingly State of Lainan most often called Dai Hoi or Great Diet is the unicameral 403-member legislature of Lainan. The Dai Hoi is the weilder of highest authority in Lainan and is not subservient or dependent on the monarch who servers the role of ceremonial head of state. Elections to the Dai Hoi are held every four years on the basis of proportinal representation with an extraordinally high 12% election treshold meaning that unless a political party is able to gain over 12% of the vote, they cannot serve in the Dai Hoi.
