The Cabinet of the United Kingdom of Vionna-Frankenlisch is the collective decision-making body of His Imperial Majesty's Government, composed of the Prime Minister and the most senior members of government. Ministers of the Crown, and especially Cabinet ministers, are selected primarily from the elected members of House of Commons, and from the House of Nobles, by the Prime Minister. Cabinet ministers are usually heads of government ministries, mostly with the office of "Minister of [function; e.g., Defence]". Some are also heads of smaller government departments, generally holding the office of "Secretary of/for [function; e.g., Foreign Trade]". However some cabinet ministers can be ministers without portfolio, either directly as such or (more commonly) by holding sinecure posts such as Lord Privy Seal, or otherwise empty titles such as First Secretary of State. Certain other cabinet ministers are in a somewhat hybrid position, where they have a portfolio, but do not head a government department. Whilst generally the most powerful and/or prestigious members of the Cabinet head critical ministries such as the Foreign Ministry, ministers without portfolio can also be important components, for example, Isambard Duke as Acting Prime Minister in the Idris ministry. By far the most powerful Cabinet Minister, the Prime Minister, heads no department, though the Prime Minister's Office co-ordinates their oversight of the whole government.
Current Cabinet
The Current Cabinet, technically known as the Second Zimmermann Ministry has been sitting since the Conservative-Imperial Coalition formed its second government in 2018. It is sometimes known as the "Recordbreaker Cabinet" as its ministers have mostly served far longer than the average tenure of a government minister, many of them serving since the First Zimmermann Ministry was formed.
