Positioned on the centre-right to right of Newreath politics, the Republican Party is ideologically conservative but has, in recent years, become more socially liberal whilst remaining fiscally conservative. The Party is dedicated to reducing the deficit, reducing the size of the federal and state governments and increasing the readiness and capability of the armed forces. Since 2016, the party has become more environmentally friendly, ensuring it is no longer a partisan issue by working together with the Liberal Party on the issue of climate change and polluted waters.

In 2016, the Republican Party suffered a daming defeat in the Presidential Election as well as in the Senate races and House election. The Republicans lost their majority in the House after losign 56 seats to the Liberal Party. Whilst they lost the 2016 Senate election, only 1/3rd of the Senate were up for election and most were incumbent liberals so the Republican party managed to retain their control of the Senate, but by a reduced margin. The biggest defeat was the presidential election. Outsider and billionaire Charles Hanley surprised the republican establishment by winning the Republican nomination for President. Hanley had managed to energise the base with his hostile and aggressive rhetoric. Hanley's manerisms and behaviour, as well as his lack of experience and brash attitude, turned off many independent and liberal voters who decide to stick with term-limited Liberal President Andrews' natural successor, then-Senator Carter who went on to defeat Hanley at the general election.

The Republican Party is a centre-right political party in the United States of Newreath. The Party competes on the Federal, State and Local levels and is one of the two major US Political Parties; the other being the Liberal Party. On a Federal level, the Republican Party holds a slim majority in the US Senate and are in the minority in the US House of Representatives. At the State Level, the Republicans hold a majority of Governorships and hold majorities ranging from slim to absolute majorities in 15 State Senates and 13 State Assemblies.

Hanley's manerisms and behaviour, as well as his lack of experience and brash attitude, turned off many independent and liberal voters who decide to vote for then-Senator Carter who went on to defeat Hanley at the general election.

Since 2016, the party has moved back to the establishment wing of the party. The 2020 Republican Primaries for President kicked off in December 2019, with only Congressman Max Lane of Lauderdale's 3rd District being the only candidate from the Hanley-wing of the Republican Party. Lane came last in the first primary vote and subsequently ended his campaign for President. Only 2 candidates remain in the primaries; Governor Dawson of Austin and Senator Reynolds of Hamilton. Both are considered moderate republicans and are members of the establishment wing of the party.

There are 2 major wings within the Republican Party; the Establishment wing (dominated by supporters of former President Marshal and President Matthew Dawson) and the New Age wing (supporters of former presidential candidate Charles Hanley). After Hanley's 2016 defeat and the subsequent defeat of his congressional supporters in the 2018 midterms, the party has firmly shifted away from the New Age wing of the party.
