- ↑ The paper trail for Majumdar's birth year and childhood is very low. Information on his birthday and childhood are largely anectodal, mostly gathered through Charu's childhood journals and largely anectodes from neighbors, family, and Majumdar himself, as well as some artifacts. His birthdate is unproven, though Majumdar (through interviews and his childhood journal} has stated repeatedly that March 12th is his birthday, and his mother and childhood friend say the same as well.
- ↑ There is no definitive evidence for Majumdar's birth year, but a letter from Majumdar in 1859 states "...just having celebrated my fiftieth birthday". An account from the Calcutta Central Prison from 1831 states "Charoo Mazumdar... a college drop out at the age of 23". Accounts from friends only give approximations, almost all of which have said that his birth year is either 1808 or 1809 based on their accounts.
