History
During the 1974 counteroffensive, Alpinoes brigades were temporarily reorganized, with the parachute trained battalions being combined to form a two ad-hoc brigades, the 1st and 2nd Alpino Parachute Brigade. These forces, along with supporting mountain artillery and engineers, were attacked the the Licana Army for offensive operations into the <> Mountains. These units, along with several battalions of parachute-trained Cazadores were tasked with a variety of missions, most notably the capture of a Transnapastaini forward air base which was hosting a large number of tactical strike and air superiority aircraft.
Following the conclusion of operations, the First and Second Alpino Parachute Brigades were disbanded and the units were sent to rejoin their formally assigned brigades.
