The Forces of Achkadian Liberty also known as FAL is a military force with allegiance to the Armed Republic of Achkadia and through the Directorate of the Defense and Liberty of Achkadia is the ruling interest of the nation. FAL is broken into three branches, the Achkadian Liberty Army Air Force, Achkadian Liberty Army, and Achkadian Liberty Army Navy. It is most known for its elite Air Forces which have been lauded as the best and most advanced in the world.
Unlike many militaries of the world, FAL also dedicates itself to internal security and policing at the behest of the Statevotary. While Achkadia does not directly call itself a military junta, it is classified by foreign organizations as a Stratocracy. As such, FAL is one of the biggest priorities of the government and is one of the most prevalent departments of the government. Fulfilling many functions beyond the normal role of the military it receives a high amount of funding, equated to over 10% of Achkadia's GDP. Service within FAL is mandatory for all citizens over the age of 16 who must serve 2 years which is considered their primary schooling.
Ranks
Ranks within the Forces of Achkadian Liberty are broken into both enlisted and officer. All youth ages 16-18 serve 2 years within FAL in the enlisted ranks with those showing aptitude for leadership, technical ability, or strategic planning being selected to move on to the Corps of Cadets and receive a commission at the end of rigorous officer training.
