The Alpinisti are a special operations capable light infantry force considered to be part of the Aisling Army's special forces command, and is the oldest special operations force within the Imperial military, dating back to the Royal Alpine Forces established by he Kingdom of Temuair in 1675. The Alpinisti specialize in combat operations taking place in mountainous and arctic climates. The Alpinisti consist of a single active duty brigade and two reserve battalions
As part of the Imperial Army's special forces command, the Alpinisti are entitled to wear berets bearing their distinctive unit color. Alpinisti units can be identified by their tan berets.
