Vietname was able to resist being absorbed as a colonial possession and was able to maintain it's independence with reforms coming to help it survive the coming centuries. It turned into a constitutional monarchy in 1815, and Gia Long became a constitutional monarh as the name implies. Soon after, in 1820, Gia Long passed away, amd was succeeded by Minh Mang. Vietnam is a nation in southeast Asia. It is on the coast of Indochina and is a constitutional monarchy. It has jungles and many fields of rice.
