History
Television in Jerku started after a small portion of the population beginning to obtained a set of television, as more demands of Jerkuan made channels and broadcast after the major success of the Jerkuan ran radio. In 1950, an experimental broadcast called "NightCallers" only running at 11:30 PM to 1:45 AM the next day, it's mostly shown a person reading either a series of poems or a books wrote by Jerkuan.
As it turned out that a large percentage of the people in Jerku stayed awake to watch the show due its relations to Jerku, so on the 23 of January 1959 after 9 years of the same show, it changed to a news network, lead by a Jerkuan anchorman, the network exploded. As for the houses that don't have television, a statistics shown that even though in a village, 1 in every 10-15 families, there would be a television sets, in contrast of this, mostly children in the village would surround the house with the set to watch, either inside or outside through the windows whenever a Jerkuan show was on.
As the economy stabilize after multiple reforms, more and more family can afford televisions, as such, the Jerku Direct Television was created for the people and from the people of Jerku, meanwhile only reaching out in big cities and smaller states owns broadcaster would distributed out for local household. As the JDT continue to grow, they bought small states own broadcaster while still letting stream broadcast that's seem appropriate for the public.
