The Communist Party of West Phoenicia was originally founded in 1960.
Darius & Clementine Kaye emigrated to West Phoenicia from [[Pi People's Republic]] bringing with them their political beliefs.
The party had minor success during this time. The main goal for the Communist Party was educating the masses on the tenants of the Communist manifesto.
However Darius Kaye became the first member of the Communist Party to win a seat.
Many West Phoenician citizens and governmental officials were weary and suspicious of the new people. They had heard what had occurred in many countries after World War II and how the Communist beliefs conflicted with their own.
Government officials initiated  a bill in parliament to ban the Communist Party. The House of Representatives and the Senate voted overwhelmingly to ban the party.
Darius Kaye was dismissed from his seat in the House of Representatives.
[[King Demetrios I Bush Philopator]] officially banned the party  in 1965.
In 1975 communists petitioned Queen Juno Bush to have the ban lifted. As the Head of State, she had the authority to veto any bills or create Executive Orders.
She created an Excutive Order that repealed the ban on the Communist Party and they were once again legally able to run for parliament, and citizens were free to join the party.
From 1975 to the year 2000 the Communist continued to have low to medium success mainly  with  the younger voting base who were drawn to the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money and the state.
They averaged 30 to 50 representatives winning seats at each General National Election.
In 1986 Lily Drawkland was arrested for the bombing of the St Philomena Church in Titania, which killed 50 and let 250 injured.
Lily Drawkland stated in an interview with police once apprehended, she did it as religion has no place in a communist society.
In the year 2000 Queen Jezebel Bush created and government funded the
[[The Un-West Phoenician Activities Committee]].
The committee was created to investigate alleged disloyalty and subversive activities on the part of private citizens, public employees, and those organizations who pose a threat against the peace and stability of the nation of West Phoenicia.
The queen used the committee to target all of her opponents.
In 2001 the Communist Party was banned by orders of The Un-West Phoenician Activities Committee. Charges included:
alleged disloyalty and subversive activities.
Some members were sent into exile, others were imprisoned.
Phillipe De'Cosmo and others in a leadership were executed on charges of treason.
The ban was lifted by Glenton Gryphon-Bush II once he became emperor.
The Communist Party struggled to make a come back after the ban was lifted.
The government has turned centre right and their base was now shared by a number of other left wing groups.
In 2014 they merged with the United Workers Party, a party that shared similar ideals. The merge helped boost membership and in 2016 they were able to increase their seats in parliament by wooing the old time United Workers Party members.
They included Climate Change and Marriage equality to their platform and attempted a merge with the Diversity, Love & Rainbow Party, a political union of a number of left wing political groups, but they were not accepted.
For the 2019 they spent alot of money on advertisements and social media campaigns trying to show citizens if they were going to vote progressive Communist was the way to go. They also campaigned towards young people who felt that the main parties where not hearing their concerns.
The results were not their best, but better than expected in the House of Representatives, where they won 31 seats. But their Senate representation dropped to 4.

History

The Communist Party of West Phoenicia was originally founded in 1960. Darius & Clementine Kaye emigrated to West Phoenicia from Pi People's Republic bringing with them their political beliefs.

The party had minor success during this time. The main goal for the Communist Party was educating the masses on the tenants of the Communist manifesto. However Darius Kaye became the first member of the Communist Party to win a seat.

In the year 2000 Queen Jezebel Bush created and government funded the The Un-West Phoenician Activities Committee.

Charges included: alleged disloyalty and subversive activities.
