Andalusia (Arabic:), formally the Republic of Andalusia is a transcontinental country in North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula. It borders Castile in the north, Portugal to the west, Morocco to the south, Catalonia to the east, and Orania to the southeast.

The territory remained under Roman rule until the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the fourth century, which ushered in Germanic tribal confederations from Central and Northern Europe, the most prominent being the Visigothic Kingdom, which ruled over much of Iberia. In the early eighth century, the Visigoth Kingdom would fall to the Umayyad Caliphate, eventually sealing the Muslim dominance over this portion of the European territory.

After the invasion, Andalusia would become a major economic and intellectual center, with the city of Córdoba being among the largest and richest in Europe. After the Islamic Golden Age, Corbada fractued t=into waring factions, allowing the Christian north to begin 'retaking' Iberia

During the Late Modern Age, the free circulation of Christians and Jews in a Muslim society made Andalusia one of the first nations to tolerate other religions, a model that would become eventually adopted in many nations in Western Europe (except for the Papal States until its dissolution in the Napoleonic Wars). The Enlightenment Era in Europe would be provided by knowledge that came from Andalusia.

Andalusia is a secular presidential democracy and a constitutional republic headed by President Najibullah Atwan. It is a highly developed country, and considered a melting pot in Europe, a crossroads between European, Muslim, and Berber cultures. The Western influence in Andalusian culture is remarkable with more Western and Arab names. It is a member of the United Nations, NATO, the European Union, the Arab League, OIC, and . It is one of servaral Msulim-majority states in Europe the only Muslim-majority country in Western Europe.
