In 1997, he was appointed to the board of his father’s company, taking an executive MBA at Oxford, which he completed two years later. In 2010, he was elected to represent the Cities of London and Westminster and in 2020 was chosen as leader of the Conservative Party.


Political ideology

He describes himself as a member of the Traditionalist or Perennialist School and “advocate of free markets, freedom of religion, freedom of thought and free speech.”

He supports the monarchy, the House of Lords and greater funding to the police as well as greater self-defence rights for householders.

He opposes efforts in the education system to teach opposition to gender roles describing it as “indoctrination”.
