The assassination of Sherif Boumadouni was ordered by the chief of the AIG, Malik Al Warae Al Salaf, and executed on September 27, 1995. It aimed a popular singer, Sherif Boumadouni, who insulted the AIG in August 1995 in the media, qualifying them of "mad dogs".
Course of the assassination
Sherif Boumadouni was returning back home from his studio in the city of Boumezgane, in the northern periphery of Ghafun, in the evening of September 27 1995. The murderer, Jalil Al Kustefai, stabbed him twice in the chest and punched him violently. Sherif died the next morning in hospital due to complications.
