The Vyvlander Security Commission (Vyvlander: Vyvluder Sekernes Konjrolie, pronounced /vʏvlʊdeɾ ʂekeɾnez konʑoleː/, better known by its initials VSK) is Vyvland's domestic and foreign intelligence agency, responsible for protecting the country from internal and international threats. It is relatively small and has limited powers, although it played a much larger role as the intelligence agency of North Vyvland during the Vyvlander partition period.
The VSK is split into two distinct internal branches - domestic, which deals with counter-terrorism and some border monitoring, and foreign, which deals with international intelligence and government analysis in addition to having a military intelligence wing. However, there are many areas of crossover between the two departments. Unlike many intelligence agencies, the acts of the VSK are not fully covert, with government and public scrutiny of the organisation in some areas (e.g. border control).
The organisation was created upon the merger of two North Vyvlander agencies; the Vyvlander Royal Intelligence Commission, charged with international intelligence, and Office of National Security, which dealt with domestic threats. The Intra-Vyvland Defence and Stability Force, North Vyvland's organisation used for espionage and monitoring against the South, remained separate until reunification in 1983, when it was dissolved. This also marked the dissolution of various disgraced Southern intelligence agencies, and thus the VSK became the intelligence agency responsible for the whole of Vyvland.
