Oriental Federation, commonly known as The Federation (Oriental: 동연방국; /tongyʌn paŋkuk/) is a federal republic primarily located in the Asia, it is bordered by Malayan Empire on the south, the Arctic Sea to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the east, East Turkestan to the west. At 9 million square kilometers (3 million square miles), it is one of the world's largest country by total area. It is the most populous country in the world with 1.4 billion people, and its capital city is Pukyong.
The East Asia region of the federation is one of the oldest inhabited places on the planet and home to one of the oldest civilizations; the Chinese civilization, considered one of the first cradles of civilization. Other ancient civilizations in the region that still exist today are the Japanese, Korean, and Mongol civilizations. Various other civilizations existed as independent polities in the east in the past, but were absorbed into neighboring civilizations in modern times. Taeman Island has a relatively recent history in the area after the prehistoric era; Originally, it was an important site of Austronesian civilization before colonization by European colonial powers and China from the 17th century. For thousands of years, China was the dominant civilization in the region until World War 3 in 2040.
Independent countries before the Federation collapsed in 2040 with the World War 3, when the People's Republic of China imploded, and other neighbouring countries were contested between Russia and the United States. Both sides suffered great damages, and gave opportunity for remaining Asian governments to form a Pan-Asian alliance. In its early years as an alliance, the country underwent political instability which later led to separatist movements mainly in the southeast. Koreans, being one of the less-affected group by the conflicts, emerged as the mediator, and proposed the two-state solution. Later in 2045, both sides signed the Treaty of Taipei, resulting in the establishment of both Malayan Empire and the Oriental Federation.
The Federation is currently governed as a federal republic. It is is a permanent member of the United Earth Security Council. It ranks among the highest in measurements of civil liberties, government transparency, freedom of the press, freedom of religion and ethnic minorities.
The Federation is a recognized nuclear-weapon state with the world's largest standing army by military personnel, taking China's army as its own, as well as its defense systems. Its is considered to be a regional superpower due to its large markets, high innovation, economic potential, growing military strength, and influence in international affairs. Being one of the largest spiritual nation and having the highest concentration of Hunters in the world (2% of its population), The Federation is the leading country in hunter management, and hunter education in the world.
